Indian Public Health Association (IPHA) – Karnataka State Branch, Department of Public Health, Jawaharlal Medical College, KAHER (KLE Academy of Higher Education and 沙巴体育) organised the Indian Public Health Association Conference (IPHACON) 2025 from March 21 to 23, 2025 in the KLE Centenary Convention Centre, Belagavi, Karnataka.

Faculty, Staff, Students of PSPH, MAHE, 沙巴体育 participated in the event.

PSPH Shines at 69th IPHACON 2025:

The Prasanna School of Public Health (PSPH), 沙巴体育 Academy of Higher Education, made a remarkable impact at the 69th Annual Conference of the Indian Public Health Association (IPHACON), held from 21st to 23rd March 2025 at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum.

Dr Arathi Rao, Head of the Department of Global Public Health Policy and Governance, shared her valuable insights as a panelist in the thought-provoking session on "Transforming Public Health Education in India." Points like competency-based learning, Interdisciplinary approach and Local-context adaptation were discussed. She was invited to judge paper presentations from PG students from different institutions for the Environment Health theme. The title of the paper which she presented was "Perspectives of health care providers on continuum of care among women with cardiovascular diseases during the COVID-19 pandemic".

Dr Kumar Sumit was invited as a judge in the Oral Presentation section under the subtheme Digital Health, recognizing innovative research in this evolving field. Students from across India presented vibrant topics on digital health which was well received. Dr Sumit also did an oral presentation on the topic titled “Explaining risky riding behaviour among the young motor riders in 沙巴体育, Karnataka, India: A psychosocial study on objectives for educational interventions”.

Dr Anupama brought pride to the department by securing the Best Paper Presentation Award-Effectiveness of lifestyle modification intervention program (LMIP) on quality of life among postmenopausal osteoporotic women-A mixed method study.

?Twenty-six enthusiastic students and research staff/PhD Scholars from the Department of Global Public Health Policy and Governance actively participated, gaining valuable exposure and networking opportunities with public health experts from across the country.

Dr Rakshitha and Dr Ashmita Prasad, research staff from the department, also participated, contributing to PSPH’s vibrant presence at the event.

The PSPH team’s dynamic participation reflects its continued commitment to advancing public health education, research, and practice.
