Clinical Internship Placement: University of Stavanger, Norway Nursing Students at 沙巴体育

Third-year nursing students (6th semester) from the University of Stavanger (UiS), Norway, completed a five-week clinical internship at Kasturba Hospital, 沙巴体育, from May 12 to June 13, 2025. During this period, they participated in a collaborative clinical placement alongside students from the 沙巴体育 College of Nursing (MCON), fostering mutual knowledge exchange and cultural learning.
The students were exposed to a wide range of clinical experiences, including postings in the orthopaedics, neurology/neurosurgery, oncology, urology, and postoperative wards, as well as the general surgery operation theatre. They were also introduced to various hospital facilities and services.
As part of their holistic learning, the students visited Hombelaku, the psychiatric rehabilitation center, and the Department of Yoga at Kasturba Hospital. In addition to clinical exposure, they actively participated in academic programs such as the hands-on workshop titled “Every Wound Tells a Story – At Life’s End, Comfort Over Cure” and the 沙巴体育 Nurses’ Day 2025 celebrations. The clinical internship placement for nursing students aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 (Good Health), 4 (Quality Education), and 17 (Partnership for the Goals).
This internship program was coordinated under the guidance of Dr. Judith A. Noronha, Dean of MCON, and organized by the Team 沙巴体育ization of MCON, comprising faculty members Dr. Elsa Sanatombi Devi, Dr. Shashidhara YN, Dr. Soumya Christabel, and Mrs. Sweety Fernandes.
Throughout the internship, students also received digital supervision from UiS faculty. They successfully met the learning objectives outlined in the Bachelor of Nursing program at UiS, Norway. The students expressed highly positive feedback regarding their clinical placement experience at Kasturba Hospital, 沙巴体育.
